What we collect when you use wise-exit.com, why, and the choices you have.
Last updated: 6 October 2026
1. Who we are
This website is operated by WiseExit (“WiseExit”, “we”, “us”), which provides M&A advisory services to people who want to sell or buy eCommerce businesses. We are the controller of the personal data described in this policy.
2. What we collect
- What you tell us in our forms. Your name, email address and, if you choose, your phone number. For a valuation: your store's address, platform, age of the business, ranges of monthly revenue and profit, main sales channel, your reasons and timeline for selling, and any notes. As a buyer: the kind of buyer you are, your budget range, the categories you're interested in and your company, if you share it. In the contact form: your message.
- Where you came from. The page where you arrived, the referring website and campaign parameters in the link (such as utm_source), so we know which channels bring people to us.
- Technical data for security. To stop spam and abuse of our forms, we derive a one-way coded key from your IP address. We never store the IP address itself, and the key is deleted within 48 hours.
- Usage statistics. We may measure visits to understand how the site is used (pages viewed, referring site, type of device). Where the law requires your consent for this, we ask for it first.
We don't ask for, and you shouldn't send us, passwords, payment card details or access to your store or ad accounts through this website.
3. Why we use it
- To prepare your valuation, answer your request and talk with you about a possible sale or purchase, at your request (steps before a possible contract).
- To send buyers opportunities that match the criteria they gave us, with their consent.
- To keep the website and our forms secure and to understand which channels work, in our legitimate interest.
- To comply with legal obligations, for example on record keeping.
4. Who we share it with
We don't sell your personal data. We share it only with:
- Service providers that run the site and our tools on our behalf, such as website hosting, our database and our customer relationship management (CRM) system, bound by contract to protect it.
- Professional advisors, such as lawyers and accountants, when needed for a deal.
- Buyers or sellers in a transaction, only with your agreement. A seller's brand name and identifying details are shared with a buyer only after the buyer signs a non-disclosure agreement (NDA).
- Authorities, when the law requires it.
5. International transfers
We are based in the United States and some of our providers process data in the United States or other countries. When your data leaves the European Economic Area, the United Kingdom or Switzerland, we rely on appropriate safeguards such as the European Commission's standard contractual clauses.
6. How long we keep it
We keep form requests for as long as we need them to handle your request and any relationship that follows, and in any case no longer than 24 months after our last contact, unless a mandate or a transaction requires us to keep records for longer. The security key derived from your IP address is deleted within 48 hours.
7. Your rights
Depending on where you live, you can ask to access, correct or delete your personal data, to restrict or object to how we use it, and to receive it in a portable format. Where we rely on your consent, you can withdraw it at any time. You can also complain to your local data protection authority.
To exercise your rights, use our contact form. We reply within the time the law requires.
8. Cookies and similar technologies
The site doesn't set cookies. While you browse, your browser keeps in its session storage the page where you arrived, the website that sent you and any campaign parameters in the link (such as utm_source, gclid or fbclid), so that they can be sent with a form if you choose to send one; your browser deletes them when you close the tab. Our visit statistics (section 2) work without cookies and without storing anything on your device. If we add statistics or marketing tools that need your consent, we will ask for it first and update this policy.
9. Children
This website is meant for business owners and investors. It is not directed to anyone under 18, and we don't knowingly collect their data.
10. Changes
We may update this policy. The date at the top shows the latest version; if the changes are significant, we will make that clear on the site.
