FAQ

Selling your store, answered.

What founders ask us before, during and after a sale.

Valuation

Is the valuation really free?

Yes. You fill in a short form, we look at your numbers and you get an answer within 24 hours. There is no fee and no commitment to sell: many founders ask for a valuation just to know where they stand.

How do you value an eCommerce store?

Two numbers decide it: the profit the business makes in a year, cleaned of personal and one-off items, and a multiple. The multiple measures how reliable that profit is. It rises with 12–24 months of stable profit, more than one channel, little dependence on you and customers who come back. It falls when profit comes from one recent spike.

Why does revenue matter less than I thought?

Buyers don't pay for revenue. They pay for profit they can verify. A store with half the revenue and a better margin can be worth more than a bigger one with thin profit.

I'm not ready to sell. Should I still ask?

A valuation doesn't commit you to anything. It tells you what you've built is worth today, and what to fix if you decide to sell later. The best time to sell is when you don't need to.

Costs

How much does WiseExit cost?

Zero upfront costs. We earn a commission only when you close. The percentage depends on the size of the deal, and you get it in writing before signing anything.

What if my store doesn't sell?

Then you don't pay us. The commission is due only at closing, when the sale is signed.

Process

How does a sale work, step by step?

Valuation, preparation of numbers and accounts, a confidential search for qualified buyers, offers and negotiation, the buyer's due diligence, then agreement and payment. We handle all of it, from valuation to signing.

How long does it take to sell?

It depends on the store, how ready the numbers are and the buyers in the market, so we don't promise a date. Plan for months rather than weeks: due diligence alone usually takes a while, and a store that keeps performing during the sale keeps its price.

Which stores do you work with?

eCommerce and direct-to-consumer brands on Shopify, WooCommerce, Amazon and other platforms. What matters most is a track record of profit you can show, ideally 12 months or more. Smaller stores are welcome: the valuation tells you honestly where you are.

Do you list my store on Flippa?

We're Verified Flippa Brokers. Your brand can be presented on Flippa, the international marketplace for buying and selling online businesses, as well as to our direct network of qualified buyers. Where and how is agreed with you.

Confidentiality

Will my suppliers, team or competitors find out?

Your brand name stays private until a buyer signs an NDA. Until then, your numbers circulate only in anonymous form. Name and accounts are never shared at the presentation stage.

After the sale

How and when do I get paid?

You often don't get everything at once: part at signing, part tied to the results of the following months. These terms matter as much as the price, and we go through them with you before you sign.

What happens after I sign?

Buyers usually ask for a handover period, with the length agreed in the contract. Most agreements also include a non-compete for a set period and market. Then you get your time back.

Buyers

I want to buy a brand. How do I see your deals?

Register your interest with what you're looking for and your budget. When a store fits, you receive an anonymous teaser. If you're interested, you sign an NDA and get the brand name, the numbers and the data room.
